You'll need your physical Secure Key and access to the HSBC Mobile Banking app. If you do not have your physical Secure Key you can still switch over to Digital Secure Key by contacting us on 03456 00 61 61.
On your PC or Laptop:
1. Log on to Online Banking
2. Select 'My banking' section of the top menu, then 'Switch My Secure Key'
3. Confirm that you have a compatible device and continue to activate
4. To complete activation log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking app
On your mobile device:
5. Open the HSBC Mobile Banking app and select 'Log on'
6. Enter your username, (this is only required if you have not selected 'remember my username') and select 'continue'
7. Answer your memorable question and the requested characters from your password, select 'continue'
8. You will be prompted to activate your Digital Secure Key now or later, choose 'activate now'
9. Generate and enter a security code from your physical Secure Key and select 'continue'
10. Choose how you'd like to receive your activation code and select 'continue' (please be aware that SMS is the quickest option)
11. Enter your activation code and select 'continue'
12. Create and confirm your Digital Secure Key password, select 'Complete Activation'
13. Confirmation will be shown. Your Digital Secure Key has been set up and you can now log on.
