How it works
We usually start with a simple introductory chat. A few questions will help us understand if you could benefit from our protection advice. We’ll also outline the process and answer any questions you may have. You can request this call in the 'Ready to apply?' section below.
Following this, we'd typically provide your protection advice across 2 in-person meetings, although this can be adapted to suit you.
Your protection review
First, we'll arrange for you to have a meeting with a qualified financial adviser.
This meeting is about understanding your protection needs in more detail so that we can provide a bespoke plan that suits you. They’ll ask about your finances and your dependents. They’ll also explore the various commitments you’d need to cover if something were to happen. If your partner would like to attend, we can discuss their needs at the same time.
Our recommendations
If you’re happy to go forward, your adviser will prepare your personalised report and arrange a final meeting to talk you through the level of protection they recommend and why.
Who can get advice?
You can access protection advice if you’re:
- an HSBC Channel Islands & Isle of Man current account customer
- a resident of Channel Islands or Isle of Man
- at least 18 years old
